2018 workshops

LCR-CCVA goals are to exchange knowledge within and the broader spectrum of our community. Our community consist of many talents and intelligence that we want to help develop and harness their life goals to flourish.

We welcome creative insights from our guest speakers. Their passion could spark interest in an individual or more in our community, reaching from our youth to our elders.

Interest is vast:

-Educating community on health and well being

-Business development and sustainability

-Community knowledge on environmental impact

-Guiding youth to various career opportunities

-A cultural exchange

-Leadership skills

-Art in various forms

We emphasize the importance of western education knowledge being continuous and within our grasp to be interconnected with our Dine origins.

Cameron Community Celebration

October 13, 2017

On October 13th, we participated in the Cameron Community Celebration parade. The L.C.R.-C.C.V.A. members were excited to combine our creativity to bring to life the parade theme, "Honoring Our Elders Through Culture and Tradition". Our Co-President Candis Yazzie tackled the giant task of making a beautiful giant squash blossom. Candis's daughter Jaidyn and nephew Deangelo created the turqoise paper mache for the squash blossom. Vice-President Alicia Chee and her nieces, Daylin and Cora, and nephew, Dominik, executed Candis's idea of a giant dream catcher. Treasurer Levi Charles beautifully show cased our art for viewers to enjoy. Our banner was held by our Co-Presidents Candis and Jackie. Our youngest candy thrower is Alicia's lil niece, Alyssa.

L.C.R.-C.C.V.A. board members would like to give a special thank you to our members who helped fund the L.C.R.-C.C.V.A. float:

Rosita George, Lula McClellan, Dawn Yazzie, Clarissa Chee, Valerie Chee, and Roseanne Yazzie.
